Miriam The Cleaning Lady

I just had one of the most in-depth conversations with my cleaning lady. I saw her entering another apartment and I stopped and I said, "Hey, Miriam! Hope you have a good day!"
"You remember my name?"
"Of course!"
Then I turned to head to my apartment.
She said, "You think it will rain mucho today?"
"I have no idea."
"You feel good inside today?"
I said that I was.
She replied, "If you feel good inside, then everything else is good. It no matter if rain or not. If you feel bad inside, then everything else is bad. You feel good today?"
I wanted to tell her that I had a really crappy week, but I knew that she wasn't going to understand to the full extent of what I was saying. I told her that I was having a good day today (for I was). Then she reiterated, "If you feel good inside, then everything else is good".

I have pondered her sweet, kind words to me for a while. It's so true and so simple. If you feel great, then whatever happens...happens. We react to the world around us. We may not be able to choose what actions we will face, but we can choose our reactions. I choose to feel good inside, then...everything else will be good. Thanks, Miriam.
