Once upon a time, in a galaxy far far away, in a far off land, in an unknown kingdom, when the thunder crashed, was born a young boy. Me.
My name is Andrew Foree...Andy for short. And since everyone else in the entire world seems to be blogging like crazy, including my older sister, I've decided to jump on the bandwagon and follow the crowd.
Today is September 4th, 2008. In 14 days, I will be 22 years old. That is weird. I have lived on this wonderful Earth for almost 22 years. I find it interesting that whenever someone has a birthday, that someone most always looks back on their life and wonder why he/she is here right now in a particular situation, with a particular someone, doing something in particular. We, as humans, seem to always look at the past with longing eyes wishing that we could have changed something. Why is that?
I think people love the past because we love memories. We love reminiscining of old times with old friends and old people. I think people hate the past because everyone wishes, at some point in their life, that they could be a different person; live a different life.
But what of the future? Some people look to the future with fear in their hearts, and darkness in their eyes. Why is that? I think people fear the future because people fear the unknown. In order to not fear the unknown, one has to know what is not knowed...learned...obtained...choose your word of preferance. How can we know what we do not? The answer is simple.
Quit worrying about the future and worry about now.
If we were to take all the time and energy that we spend thinking about tomorrow, the next day after that, the next week, the next year, the next 5 years...we could be completely different people. If we were to focus on today, and nothing else, we would accomplish what we want to accomplish TODAY, and not what we want to accomplish tomorrow.
Thinking about today is proactive. Do what you want and need to do today...who cares about tomorrow?
