The Beginning of a New America

I'd never thought I would see the day when an African American of Muslim descent would become the President of the United States of America. Watching the inauguration of the 44th president early this morning gave me hope. It gave me hope for a better America, a better nation, a better people.

While there are others who are against President Obama and his ideals, I firmly believe and do attest that I will uphold him as the leader of this great nation. In his speech earlier today, he mentioned that the creeds of the constitution will be respected and that this new America will redeem itself from her past.

Those who are weary and afraid that President Obama will be socialist and he will bring our nation further into a state of degradation and unhappiness. I say to those who do not trust in our new president, suck it up. His speech that was delivered today spoke of our nations challenges. He said, "...the challenges we face are real. They are serious and they are many. They will not be met easily or in a short span of time. But know this, America - they will be met".

His speech filled my heart with hope of a new generation. He cited the words of the father of this nation. He cited Holy Scripture. He cited words of wonderful and faithful leaders of this nations past.

President Obama is the thing that this country needs right now. He has helped unite a nation that has been gripped in fear and hatred for many years past. President Obama wants to unite the people of America, and I will support him in this great cause.

He is the new president of the United States of America and I am excited and hopeful for the beginning of a New America.

In closing, President Obama stated this morning, "America. In the face of our common dangers, in this winter of our hardship, let us remember these timeless words. With hope and virtue, let us brave once more the icy currents, and endure what storms may come. Let it be said by our children's children that when we were tested we refused to let this journey end, that we did not turn back nor did we falter; and with eyes fixed on the horizon and God's grace upon us, we carried forth that great gift of freedom and delivered it safely to future generations".

I like him too. I didn't vote for him but I hope he does well. The only thing that unnerves be is the constant adulation that he receives. He really isn't Superman. Don't get you hopes up so hight that you'll be dissappointed no matter what he does. He is just a man trying to do his best just like all the other presidents before him.
