Never in my life did I think that I would have a job where I would be dealing with electricity, drilling holes, taking apart walls, and installing security systems. This first week of working with APX Alarm as a technician has really opened my eyes to see how hard and easy it is to work with your hands. It has been an interesting first week. I have installed 7 alarm systems so far. Right now I am number 2 in our office. Hopefully this week, I will be able to install more systems. We have more Sales Reps and that means: more work. It is tough. It is time consuming. But, once I get my paycheck, I think I will find out that it is all worth it. I know it may sound selfish, but really...the only reason why I am out here is to make money. And to make a lot of it.
I wish I could post pictures of what Toronto is from my perspective, but for some reason I am not able to upload the pictures from my Blackberry to my computer. I think there is something wrong. But, let me tell you, it is a beautiful city with lots to do. I love it.
Yesterday, I went to church with James (another technician). We found a small congregation of about 60 people. It was Fast and Testimony meeting and only three people bore their testimonies (they took so long no one else could do it)! I felt like I was back on the mission again. It is so strange to see how much Toronto reminds me of my mission. There is even a Portuguese TV Channel, Radio Station, and...a little Portugal! It's like a Chinatown, but...with Portuguese everything. I intend on finding it before I leave.
Today, I was woken up by the sweet sound of a Mexican cleaning lady. We have house keeping here. So, I woke up, went to the gym and when I got back, my apartment was as good as new! Oh...the joys of working for a company that makes millions of dollars. :)
And...yup. That's about it. I don't have anything else to inform you all of. I am doing great. I am working hard. And I am learning how to become a better technician and person all at the same time.
