The Car Accident

In Toronto, especially on a Friday afternoon, traffic can get pretty crappy. I knew that I was first on the list to install a security system today, so I decided to let my GPS system navigate me to the job area through the back roads to avoid traffic. As the drive progresses, I realize that I am not getting to my job area any faster, nor is traffic any better. I was a little frustrated. Then, I get a call from my office telling me that there was a job waiting for me with my name on it. I lost that job because I wasn't in the area yet. And, to make matters worse today...I got in a car accident.

I was driving normally, within the speed limit and was headed into an intersection. As I was entering, the light was yellow. A car in front of me was waiting to turn left. As I went through the intersection, I guess he decided to go through me. I slammed on my brakes and swerved to the right to avoid a T-bone collision, and my front left side of my car slammed into the right side of his. After swearing like a sailor, I turned off my car and got out to see the results. As you can see, my car suffered only minor injuries. The other man was in his car, and we were both fine. A bystander came up and asked if anyone was hurt and he said he was going to call the police. We moved our cars out of the intersection and onto a side road. I then exchanged information from the other driver and then we waited for the police to arrive.

About an hour later, the police showed up and they did a preliminary statement of what happened. Officer C. Wang informed me that the other driver was not going to press charges and that there would be no ticket. After removing everything from my car, I was able to get a rental car from a dealership and my car is now in an auto-body shop, hoping to get repaired. The tow-truck guy informed me, that in Canada, if someone interferes with the flow of traffic, like not waiting until he had enough time to make a left turn, than I am not at fault and the other driver is. So, I guess, in all this vomit of bad things...I won't be charged with the fault of the accident nor will I have to pay anything to insurance. I just feel really bad for the other guy.

So, that's an update from me. I'm fine; I'm alive and that's all what really matters.
